TERMITES HOW TO STOP THEM PEST CONTROL EXTERMINATOR BONITA SPRINGS FORT MYERS NAPLES FLORIDA

HOW TO STOP TERMITES

Liquid Applications:

Liquid application requires the placement of a material that will kill or repel the termites from your home.  This often requires drilling many 1/2” holes in the structure to place the material.  These holes are then treated, and patched with concrete. By placing a “barrier” under your home, the termites cannot return to the colony buried in the soil or continue to cause damage.  The workers that are “cut-off” on the day of application will die within 30-60 days because they have no access to moisture.  This assumes that you no leaks or other sources of moisture within the home.  If you have a leak in the shower, it is possible that the termites in the home will remain there and continue to cause damage.   In completing a professional job. the company should then paint the holes to match the existing colors.  Collier Pest Control is one of very few companies to complete this procedure.  Collier Pest Control offers a limited warranty for a FULL FIVE YEARS after the initial treatment.  If the termites should re-infest your home, will come back and retreat the area without charge.

Bait Applications:

Bait applications are very attractive if you do not wish to have pesticides under the floor of your home, or do not wish to have the home “drilled out”.   Bait applications consists of surrounding your home with “monitors”, which the termites will find when they forage through the soil looking for food. When the termites appear in the monitors, a bait is placed in the same location.  The termites eat the bait and bring it back to the colony to share.  Further, baiting is easier on the environment and actually does kill the termites outside or under the structure.  Unlike liquids, this reduces the termite “pressure” of having termites constantly foraging under and near your home looking to get back in and feed.  A technician will inspect each monitor on a regular basis.  (Monthly when there is active feeding by the termites, each three months when there is no active feeding)  The nature of the subterranean termite baiting system will insure a technician will be on the property often enough to discover, and correct, any new infestation BEFORE a large amount of damage is done.  As you may know, termite damage is expensive to repair and it makes sense to stop the termite before the damage is done.
