RATS RODENTS NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

THE FLORIDA COTTON RAT

The Florida Cotton Rat inhabits most of the southern United States, including most of Florida.  This rat is also known at the Hispid Cotton Rat.  The Florida Cotton Rat prefers to live in dense covered grassy fields, overgrown roadsides, or fencerow vegetation adjacent to cultivated fields.  They also occupy meadows, marshy areas, cactus patches, and weedy ditch banks.  Under the protective cover, the Florida Cotton Rat will have well-defined runways radiating in all direction from the nest site.

This rat is a moderately large, robust rodent with a scaly, sparsely haired tail that is shorter than the combined head and body.  They have relatively large eyes.  The ears are large but almost hidden in the fur.  Distinguishing characteristic is the rough grizzled appearance of the blackish or grayish fur and the rather stiff black guard hairs.  They average 10 inches long including the tail length of 4 inches.  They may be identified as a Norway rat but are smaller in size.

The Florida Cotton Rats are normally herbivores, eating the roots, stems, leaves, and seeds of a wide variety of plants, fruits, berries and nuts.  Cotton rats will cut tall plants off at the base and continue to cut them into shorter sections.  They will also eat insects, the eggs and young of ground-nesting birds and carcasses of dead animals.

These rats are basically nocturnal but will venture out in the daytime and are active year-round.  They do not store food or hibernate.  They are excitable, pugnacious, and aggressive toward mice living in the same fields.  Their nests are a crude mass of dry grass fibers stripped from larger plant stems, placed in shallow surfaces depression, among clumps of coarse grasses, underground in shallow tunnels, or under rocks or logs.  They seldom inter homes or structures.

Don't let unwanted creatures disrupt your Southwest Florida lifestyle.  If you live in Naples, Fort Myers, Southwest Florida call, 239-455-4300, Collier Pest Control, Southwest Florida's Pest Authority, for a full explanation on any of our services, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com, Remember Florida does not have to be shared with pests.

COCKROACHES SURINAM ROACH NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

THE SURINAM COCKROACH

This tropical cockroach usually is not noticed until large numbers have populated an area.  They remain inside cracks and crevices, under leaf litter, and mulch during the day and come out at night to feed upon plants.  Surinam cockroaches are plant feeders and can severely damage plants in greenhouses and atriums.  They also are commonly found in potted plants, planters, and other humid, hot situations outdoors in the Gulf coast states from Florida to Texas.

The Surinam cockroach burrows into the soil to a depth of three to four inches, where they construct a burrow containing nymphs, (adolescents), and females incubating their egg capsules.  These egg capsules produce from 14 to 42 eggs each.  Surinam cockroaches are unique, in that there are NO males of the species found in the United States.  The females reproduce parthenogentically without mating with a male.  Surinam cockroaches are 3/4" to 1" long, are brown in color,  and have a very obvious dark brown to black shield, (the area behind its head), which is called the pronotum.

To control this insect it is critical to remove harborage areas, such as excessive leaf litter, excessive mulch, unneeded landscape timbers, stones, or other objects close to the foundation of your building.  Residual materials should be applied to foundations, plantings, woodpiles, potted plants, mulch and any infested areas.  Barrier treatments can substantially reduce Surinam cockroach populations around your home.

TERMITE INSPECTIONS PROTECTION NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

TERMITE PROTECTION

WHY HAVE COLLIER PEST CONTROL'S TERMITE INSPECTION

Every year, thousands of homes are attacked by wood destroying organisms. In fact, termites cause more damage than hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, and fire combined! Banks and homeowners need to know if there is visible evidence in a home before investing their money.  In most cases, if there is an infestation problem after a termite inspection, it is because the inspector failed their responsibilities. The inspector did not inspect thoroughly and missed an infested area.  It is important to know how buildings are constructed to understand where and how termites and other Wood Destroying Organisms enter the structure.  There is no substitute for hard work and experience.

Most homes have a "termite" inspection before the property changes hands.  A "termite" inspection is really misnamed.  The inspection as required and defined by Florida State Law is really a "Wood Destroying Organisms" inspection.  In Florida, the types of wood destroying organisms we inspect for is defined by state law.  These are not the only insects that destroy wood in a home, but rather what, by law, we must inspect for all species of termites, powder post beetles, old house borers, and wood decay fungi.  It is interesting to note that Carpenter Ants have the ability to destroy wood, but are NOT part of the scope of the inspection.

In general, a wood destroying organism inspector looks at all the VISIBLE areas of the structure to find any evidence of an infestation of wood destroying organisms.  Our inspector then reports what was found on the form required by Florida state law.  An inspection may include sounding or probing of suspect areas.  As you will learn, the inspector cannot see into walls, voids, under furniture, carpeting, or in low crawl spaces!

The public will often expect that the inspection guarantees that there are no wood destroying organisms in the home.  THIS IS NOT TRUE!  The report is only an indicator of the presence or absence of an infestation based upon WHAT WAS VISIBLE AND ACCESSIBLE ON THE DAY OF INSPECTION!  If evidence is found, a proposal for treatment and a warranty is given to the people whom ordered the inspection

This is why we at Collier Pest Control, Southwest Florida's Pest Authority, back up all our guaranteed termite inspections with a full year's warranty, that if any evidence of termite infestation is found within a year from the paid inspection, Collier Pest Control will gladly come out and treat the termite infestation.  We are that confident of our termite inspectors not to miss any hidden termite infestations in your home.

If you live in Naples, Fort Myers, or Southwest Florida call 239-455-4300 today to order your free termite inspection and a full explanation on any of our services, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com. TICK INFESTATIONS TICK SERVICE NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

TICK SERVICE

Collier Pest Control is Southwest Florida's Pest Control Authority.  We are specialist's in general household pest and termite control. Our approach to tick control is not just with surface sprays.  Collier Pest Control developed a complete thorough Tick Treatment that treats your complete house and every place your pet is active; all the cracks and crevices, voids, windows and door casings, furniture, baseboards, and rugs.

The Brown Dog Tick is the most common tick here in beautiful Southwest Florida.  The Brown Dog Tick does not vector any disease, such as Lyme disease or Rocky Mountain spotted fever.  Ticks are a serious problem and can cause major health problems if allowed to infest your living area.  Ticks are not an insect and are closely related to the spider.  Adult ticks have 8 legs, insects only have 6 legs.  All ticks are parasitic and feed on the blood of animals.  Most ticks spend the majority of their life on or near the ground waiting for a suitable host to come attach themselves on.  Ticks will climb onto an appropriate object, such as a tall blade of grass, bush, fence post, side of a building to wait for a host to pass by. The Brown Dog Tick can live for as long as 200 days without a blood meal.

The female Brown Dog Tick can lay a mass of 1000 to 3000 eggs. These eggs will hatch in 19 to 60 days into a 6 legged, small, immature seed tick. Within 3 to 6 days it will molt and change into an 8 legged nymph tick.  After a blood meal from a host, this nymph will molt in 12 to 29 days into an adult tick.

If you find a tick attached to you or a family member never just pull it off the skin.  A tick is easily removed by first touching the tick with a warm butter knife or alcohol to get it to remove its head from the skin. Then grab the tick and lift it off the skin.

Don't be over whelmed with a tick infestation in your home. If you are looking for a dependable knowledgeable exterminator and live in Naples, Fort Myers, or Southwest Florida call 239-455-4300 Collier Pest Control for a free estimate and a complete explanation on any of our services, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com.  Don't let unwanted guests spoil your beautiful Southwest Florida lifestyle.  Remember, Florida does not have to be shared with insects!

SPIDER ARACHNIDS FACTS NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

SPIDER FACTS

Spiders are arachnids not insects.  Arachnids have 8 legs, no antennae, and 2 body regions.  Insects have 6 legs, 1 pair of antennae, and 3 body regions.  There are about 37,000 species of spiders that have been named.  This represents only about 1/4th the total amount of all spiders.  Luckily only a few types are considered household pests and almost all spiders found in Florida are harmless to humans.  Almost all spiders possess venom, but most cannot penetrate the skin of humans with their fangs.

Poisonous spiders, specifically those dangerous to humans, are few in number.  Only five species of venomous spiders occur in Florida, which are; The Southern Black widow, The Northern Black Widow, The Red Widow, The Brown Widow, and occasionally seen The Brown Recluse.  If bitten by a spider, keep it in rubbing alcohol for a positive identification by a professional.  If it happens to be one of these venomous spiders you might need medical attention immediately.  Collier Pest Control recommends if bitten by any spider or insects.  First, try to identify the species of pest you where bitten by.  Then, rub the bitten area of your body with ammonia, and then cover the bitten area with ice to reduce the swelling to the area.  If you are not sensitive or allergic to spider or insect bites, the irritation from the bite will be reduced within a few minutes.  If you have had an experience with sensitivity or allergic reaction to spider or insect bites, seek medical attention immediately.   Bring the pest that bit you to the medical attendant for proper identification.

Most spiders live one to two seasons.  Some primitive spiders can live up to 10 years. A female spider does not ordinarily feast on her mate as fable tells us, but males do die soon after mating.  Spiders require shedding their exoskeleton usually 4 to 12 times before becoming an adult.

All Spiders are predators that depend mostly on live insects for their food source.  They will also feed on other spiders when available.  Some Spiders make webs to snare their prey; others are hunters that search for their prey.  When feeding on their prey, spiders inject a digestive fluid into their prey before eating it.  Spiders can survive for long periods of time without feeding.  Some Spiders have kept alive for over 2 years without feeding.  Spiders never feed on plants or non-living materials, including grains and fabrics.

Some Spiders are associated with moisture and found in basements, crawl spaces, and damp parts of buildings.  Other types of Spiders live in warm dray places.  These can be found in subfloor air vents, and upper corners of rooms and attics,   newly hatched Spiders are very tiny and can easily enter your home through screens and around loose fitting doors and windows.  Spiders regularly hid in cracks, darkened areas, or other retreats which they construct of silk.

Controlling Spiders indoors may involve nothing more than vacuuming up the Spiders, their webs, and egg sacs.  Removal of clutter or other sanitation steps directed at the conditions favoring Spiders will help reduce Spider infestation.  Successful Spider management indoors begins by eliminating the Spiders food source with are insects and other Spiders. Routine pest control maintenance, tightly fitted screens and weather strips on doors and windows will keep out unwanted pests.  Also, inspect such things as; firewood, cut flowers, nursery plants, and anything brought into the home.

Controlling Spiders outside your home can be as easy as wiping down, washing, and pressure spraying all webs, Spiders, and eggs sacs.  Turning off outside lights when not needed, and routine pest control treatments will control most Spider infestations for most homes.

If your Spider infestation is bigger than you can handle with regular maintenance or you just don't wish to see exterior Spiders around your home.  Collier Pest Control, Southwest Florida's Pest Authority, can eliminate unwanted Spiders from around the outside of your home for up to 6 months at a time with our specially designed for Southwest Florida Spider Service.  We will treat all the eaves, soffits, doors frames, window frames, lighting, pool cages, inside garages, and any place a spider can cling.  Read our Spider Treatment information sheet for more facts or call, 239-455-4300, for a free estimate and a complete explanation on any of our services, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com.  Don't let unwanted guests spoil your beautiful Southwest Florida lifestyle.  Remember, Florida does not have to be shared with Spiders or insects.

ANTS IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WHITE FOOT ANTS NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

WHITE FOOT ANTS

The White Footed ant is native to tropical Asia, but has been inadvertently introduce into South Florida.  The White Footed Ant arrived in the Homestead are of Florida in 1986, followed by rapidly spreading up and out expanding throughout the rest of South Florida.

The White Footed Ants are relatively small ants with a black body and yellowish-white feet, called tibia and tarsi.  These ants do not bite or sting, nor have they been reported to cause any type of structural damage.  They are just a nuisance ant attracted to sweet foods.  Thus, it is common to find them foraging indoors around kitchens and bathrooms, and outside on hedges infested with honeydew producing insects, such as aphid and scales.

White Footed Ants in Southwest Florida for many pest control companies, have been extremely difficult to control because of several characteristics of their biology.  One big problem is that they establish colonies of well over a million ants, over half being worker ants.  Workers ants are sterile females that are responsible for foraging for food and caring for the nest.  Another problem is that food ingested by the worker ants is never shared back in the colony, as like most every other type of ant.  These sterile worker ants are capable of laying unfertilized eggs.  These Thinner more fragile non fertile eggs are what the worker ants, larva, and queens in the colony use as their food source, therefore, any toxic bait to kill off ants never reach the ants in a White Foot Ant colony, and only affect the foraging worker ants that eat the insect killing baits.

While White Foote Ants are not directly harmful to humans or pets, their presence within the home is a nuisance. Collier Pest Control, Southwest Florida's Pest Authority, has developed a 3-step 6-week treatment method to eliminate unwanted White Foote Ants from you home and property.  Collier Pest Control will first use insect killing baits inside you home and attic to eliminate any activity being seen inside your home.  Then we will treat the immediate sides of your home with special insect killing materials to kill any trailing White Foot Ant attempting to enter your home.  The 3-stage of this treatment method is to use special insect killing materials up to 30 or 40 feet around your home, killing off all activity trailing toward your home.  Collier Pest Control will follow up with a service treatment each week for 5 more weeks insuring that no White Foot Ants are infested or entering your home.

If you have been run out of your home by unwanted White Foot Ants and live in Naples, Fort Myers, or Southwest Florida call, 239-455-4300, Collier Pest Control for a complete explanation and free estimate on any of our services, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com.  Don't let insect spoil your beautiful Southwest Florida lifestyle.  Remember, Florida doesn't have to be shared with insects.

SUBERRANIAN TERMITES FREE TERMITE INSPECTION NAPLES FORTY MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES

Subterranean Termites are social insects that live in colonies consisting of many individuals.  The colonies are composed of workers, soldiers, and reproductives.  The workers are very small, 1/8th of an inch, have not wings, are white to cream colored and very numerous.  Soldiers defend the colony against insects, like ants, that can attack the colony.  Soldiers are wingless and white in color with large brown heads.  King and Queen Termites perform the reproductive functions of the colony.  They are dark brown to black in color.

Subterranean Termites, as the name suggests, live in the soil, in most cases.  Subterranean Termites are an important part of our environment.  In a natural setting, this type of termite recycles dead trees back into the soil.  Without the termite, our forests would be littered with dead trees as wood "rot" cannot break the dead trees down fast enough.  The termite sees the wood in your home as just another food source.   If the wood of your home does not contact the soil, they can build mud tunnels or tubes to reach the wood several feet above the ground.   These mud tunnels can extend for 50-60 feet to reach wood and often enter a structure through expansion joints in concrete slabs or where utilities enter the home.  The main portion of the termite colony stays in the ground and the foraging worker termites come into a home through cracks in the concrete, as small as 1/64th of an inch, a dimes width.  Once inside, they will eat the wood and bring it back to the nest in the ground as food to the termites remaining in the colony.

Subterranean termites feed on wood or other items that contain cellulose, such as paper, fiberboard, and some fabrics derived from cotton or plant fibers.  Subterranean Termites are often difficult to detect.  Detection can be from the presence of winged reproductives, mud tubes on the sides of your home, or seeing wood damage.

The control of subterranean termites is often a major expense and like any other household expense should be carefully considered.  An important point to remember is that Subterranean Termites work SLOWLY!  There are many variables when considering how fast or slow a termite colony will damage a home.  A small colony can typically eat six inches of a wooden 2X4 board in one year.  You do not need to rush into an agreement with a firm before you thoroughly investigate what are all your alternatives.

Collier Pest Control can control all types of termites for you economically.  Let our experienced termite Inspector come and evaluate if you have a termite problem or some other form of damage.  If it is termites, we can offer to you different types of service to correct the infestation.  Collier Pest Control offers long term protection  with our in ground termite baiting systems if you plan to keep you home, or traditional liquid treatments for a 5 or 7 year protection.

EXTERMINATOR DUST MITE CONTROL TREATMENTS NAPLES FORTY MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

HOUSE DUST MITES

If you think our modern, well insulated house is a safe haven from all allergenic alarms, think again.  That average six room house accumulates an average of 40 pounds of dust per year.  That dust is home to millions of unseen, but troublesome Dust Mites.

The North American and European House Dust Mite is a little known and rarely mentioned group of mites.  Wherever humans and their pets live Dust Mites will be presents.  These Dust Mites will feed on skin dander deposited in beds, furniture, and carpeting.  When there are large populations of Mites are in a home.  Skin fragments and Mite fecal material become airborne causing allergic reactions like asthma and rashes.  Research has shown that the most prevalent allergen in a home is dust produced from Dust Mites.

Dust Mites are extremely small, .04 millimeters, making identification by sight impossible without the use of a microscope.  You can fit as many as 7000 on a fingernail.  They are globular in shape, and creamy white in color.  Mites have 6 legs as larva and 8 legs as nymphs and adults.  The adult female Dust Mite lays about 25 to 50 eggs a day for 30 days.  The eggs hatch and develop to adults in about one month.

People shed about 1/5 of an ounce of dander (dead skin) per week.  One gram of skin will feed thousands of mites for months.  Actually, 80 % of what you see floating in a sunbeam through a window is skin flakes.  To Dust Mites this is a Thanksgiving dinner.  Dust Mites eat skin flakes both human and animal.  Skin flakes have a fungus growing on them which is especially attractive to Dust Mites.

Dust Mites bite you and cause you to itch; they also produce allergens to which some people are very sensitive.  The Dust Mite feces contain 15 different proteins, and many people are allergic to the combination of these different proteins.

House Dust Mites inhabit damp places that are occupied by people and pets.  The House Dust Mite thrives in high humidity of 70 to 80% and warm temperatures from 68 to 84 degrees.  They are found in mattresses, pillows, in stuffed furniture, rugs, draperies, and any crack or crevice.

Dust Mites produce an allergic reaction that causes symptoms similar to asthma.   Headaches, respiratory problems, eye irritation, fatigue, and depression are other allergic reaction which can be linked to Dust Mite feces.  A 15 year old pillow could have a third of its weight in Dust Mite feces.  One ounce of dust can hold as many as 42,000 Dust Mites.

Unfortunately, studies have shown that Dust Mites can never be completely eliminated from an area, but can be suppressed for a short time.  Dust Mite populations can be reduce with a little personal effort by washing  bedding and other items in hot (130 degree) water weekly, putting your pillows in the dryer on high for 15 to 30 minutes, and do thorough household cleaning regularly. This may mean that you vacuum your furniture, draperies, and mattresses weekly and spray them with disinfectant.  Vacuuming with most conventional air bag vacuum cleaners can works against you in Dust Mite elimination, they vent dust out the exhaust and into the air again.  The use of a water trap vacuum will collect the dust in the water where it stays.  Don't use dusters, mops, or brooms because they all merely rearrange the dust and the Dust Mites.  In extreme cases wrap your mattress and pillows in plastic and remove the draperies from the bedroom area.  Wash and clean window blinds weekly, professionally cleaning the carpet regularly or remove it all together, then wash the hard surface floors weekly, and cleaning the heating and air conditioning dusts will give added benefit.

You can help reduce House Dust Mites with a higher rated heating and air conditioning filter.  Drain treatment systems are available for your air conditioner to help stop bacteria, molds, and fungus growing from the drain pan.  E use of dehumidifiers to keep the humidity less than 50% will kill off most molds and fungus and starve the Dust Mites.  Ozone producing machines are available to kill off the fungus on skin flakes and dust to starve out Dust Mites, also.

Collier Pest Control, Southwest Florida's Pest Authority, can help you control Dust Mites with our Dust Mite Service specially designed for Southwest Florida.  We can thoroughly broad cast spray all of your flooring, furniture, draperies, mattresses, and air conditioning ducts.  This treatment will kill all existing Dust Mites in your home and keep them from re-infesting your home for up to 60 days. This specialized treatment for Dust Mites kills the fungus on all treated areas and keeps killing fungus to keep the Dust Mites from re-infesting our home.

The real facts are there is no such thing as a Palmetto Bug.  The American cockroach is the first to be labeled a Palmetto Bug.  The American Roach is the largest of the common roach species at about 1 1/2 inches long, reddish brown in color, with fully developed wings.  This large bug seldom flies but is capable of gliding long distances.  Each female American Roach can develop an egg capsule of 15 eggs every week.

Another villain, recently, to be named the Palmetto Bug is the Australian Cockroach.  This roach is similar in appearance, size, and color.  This startling pest has distinguished yellow military type lieutenant strips along the outer front of either wing. This strong flier has a prominent bat shaped dark spot in the center of the pronotum, the area just behind the head.  This Australian Roach can develop an egg capsule with 15 eggs every 10 days.

Both the American and the Australian Roach are primary outside pests.  During periods of cold, extreme hot and dry weather, or excessive rainfall they will try to enter buildings foraging for food.  Both are found living outdoors in landscape, tree trucks, under rocks, around drainpipes, and any place moisture and shelter will protect them.

EXTERMINATOR TICK TREATMENTS SERVICES NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

EXTERMINATOR FLEA TREATMENT INFORMATION NAPLES FORT MYERS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

INFORMATION ABOUT FLEAS

Fleas are pest to humans and their domestic animals all over the world.  While most fleas prefer non-human hosts, many can and do feed on humans when infestations are heavy or when other hosts are not readily available.

Fleas are small, wingless parasitic insects that are extremely well adapted to their environment.  The first step toward effective control is recognizing two very important factors.  First, the 4 stages of the flea life cycle (egg, larva, pupa, and adult) have to be broken or stopped.  Second, the flea population must be controlled everywhere it exists, on the pet, inside the home, and out in the yard.

                1.  THE EGG STAGE

The eggs are laid loosely and singly on the host.  The eggs are not sticky so when the host shakes, scratches, or moves around the eggs will be deposited in all areas where the hosts rest, sleeps, and is active.

                2.  THE LARVAL STAGE

Flea larva is whitish, legless, and worm like.  Unlike adult fleas, the larvae are free living (non-parasitic) with chewing mouth parts and feed on material available in their environment.   It is necessary for successful development of the larva to feed on organic debris and the adult flea excrement containing dried blood which composes the main diet of the flea larva. Larvae are more sensitive to temperature and humidity than the eggs.  Low humidity, less than 50%, is fatal for flea larvae.  The larval period normally lasts 7-15 days, but can be as long as several months if the environment is less favorable.

                3.  THE PUPAL STAGE

Unlike the egg and larval stage, the pupa stage is very resilient to harsh conditions.  The cocoon serves to protect the pupa from predators and also acts as a barrier against insecticides.  Within the cocoon the pupa changes into a pre-emerged adult flea.  Adults will emerge from the pupa case in 5-7 days under favorable conditions.  In adverse conditions, the pupae and pre-emerged adults can lay quiet within the cocoon for up to a full year.   Flea emergence can be stimulated by body warmth of the host and the pressure made by a host walking on the pre-emerged adult within the cocoon, increased temperatures and mechanical disturbances.

                4.  THE ADULT STAGE

The adult flea has well developed legs for jumping.  Adults have piercing-sucking mouth parts and are usually ready to take a blood meal, their only source of food, 24-48 hours after emerging from the cocoon.  Adult fleas spend 90% of their life on the host and feed many times a day.  On average, the female flea lays 15-20 eggs per day for the 10-14 days that she is fertile.

For an effective flea program to stop any re-infestation of fleas in all areas, the pet, the home, and the yard must be treated.  Pets drop flea eggs anywhere at any time.  After hatching, the flea larva then can migrate to dark low traffic areas where food is available.  All stages of the flea can be carried throughout the house in the laundry, on people or on their clothing.  Also, if the infested pet frequently travels in the family vehicle it may be necessary to treat the vehicle as well.  Outdoor treatment is also necessary when the pets are allowed outside.

Although nearly all adult fleas present at the time of service will be controlled, don't be alarmed if you see some fleas within a few days to three weeks after treatment.  These are newly emerged adults from the cocoon of the pupa stage.  If these conditions are present after treatment, control the new adults on the pet with bathing or a pet flea insecticide.  Any flea prevention program must include regular grooming and bathing of the pet.  If the pet is not being treated regularly, you could see constant sighting of fleas.  Your home and your yard would not be re-infested but your pet would be infested.

To insure a continuous protection from fleas on your home and yard, we recommend that you renew your flea services at the end of each guarantee period.  If your look for a dependable knowledgeable exterminator and live in Naples, Fort Myers, or Southwest Florida call, 239-455-4300 us today for a free estimate and a complete explanation on any of our service, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com.  Don't let unwanted guests spoil your beautiful Southwest Florida lifestyle!  Remember, Florida does not have to be share with insects!

ANGIE'S LIST SERVICE REPORTS FOR COLLIER PEST CONTROL IN NAPLES, FORT MYERS, AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

COLLIER PEST CONTROL

IS A

super service

WINNER

for 2011

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPORTS ABOUT COLLIER PEST CONTROL

The following are valid Collier Pest Control customers that gave a service report to Angie's List.

WE DID NOT HAVE ANY CRUCIAL ISSUES. WE JUST NEEDED A PEST CONTROL SERVICE ON A REGULAR BASIS. MY NEIGHBOR RECOMMENDED THEM. WE HAVE BEEN THEIR HAPPY CUSTOMERS SINCE THE FIRST TIME THEY CAME WHEN WE MOVED TO FLORIDA IN 2000. THEY ARE VERY THOROUGH, POLITE, AND INFORMATIVE. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM, SUCH AS GERMAN ROACHES, WHICH WE HAD NINE MONTHS AGO, THEY COME AGAIN AND AGAIN, AS MANY TIMES AS NEEDED WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

I found them on Angie's List. I used them and then I signed up with them. The first time that I used them was four and a half months ago. They are here once in every three months. Mr. Steve is the technician and he is the most knowledgeable pest person that I have ever had. He knows everything there is to know. It is like having a graduate course in animology talking to this person as he really knows about the pests. He is efficient and the service is great. They call ahead of the time and  everything is arranged. They show up on time. They are great and the best ones that I have ever had. There is no downside to these people. I explain things to Mr. Steve and he tells me about what to do. Marco Island has been so dry and there has been an invasion of strange new bugs that no one has ever seen. I have described them to him and he has told me about what to do. He has asked me to collect it so that we could find out as to what it is. Everyone has acknowledged that there are some strange things that are showing up on Marco Island. They are good in terms of their pricing. I think that their price is very reasonable when $126 is broken down to three months as it would come up to $42 for each month for pest control services. He is incredibly knowledge about everything. They are signed up forever.

They came back in 3 days as promised. They did everything that needed doing, moved furniture and replaced it after the treatment. They were clean, neat, polite, and did their job well. I have used them in the past and have always found them helpful for other things. The office person is polite and helpful also. The other thing that I think speaks well for them is that we always have the same technicians. In other companies I had used in the past you never had the same person twice. I like that they keep employees. That means they must treat them well and so they also treat you well.

I received a recommendation for them from a co-worker. I have used them twice this year. I have been very happy with the service. They took extra time to explain to me what I could do to prevent pest issues and prevention of termite infestation. We have quite a bit of these issues in Southwest Florida. I appreciated that.

100% satisfied with the service of this company from the customer service receptionist to the exterminator himself.  They are efficient, prompt, respectful, friendly and the treatment works!  And best of all, if for any reason a problem does come about in between treatments you simply call and they come out and fix the problem free of charge!  VERY happy with Coller Pest Control and would highly recommend their service to anyone who is looking for a good extermination service.  Refreshing in this day and age!

I have a four unit and they did that. One of the four units was infested with cockroaches, so they did more than extensive spraying in that one apartment and then just a general spraying in the other three apartments. They also did a general spraying at my house. They were friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. I will see how it turns out if there are no more cockroaches or bugs over there. I haven't really spoken to any of my tenants yet. I am happy with the service they gave me. The price was fair and I think time will tell whether it was a thorough job or not. I would use them again in the future.

If you are looking for a dependable pest control company with knowledge to control Florida's problem pests, call Collier Pest Control at 239-455-4300, or look us up on our web site at collierpestcontrol.com.  If you live in Naples, Fort Myers, or Southwest Florida, call us for a complete explanation on any of our services and schedule a scheduled appointment time.  Don't let unwanted pests spoil your beautiful Southwest Florida lifestyle.  Remember Florida does not have to be shared with insects.
